What qualities makes some successful at LT?

The successful employee at LendingTree is someone who’s curious and constantly striving for improvement – personally and for the business. There is a sense of entrepreneurship here that allows people to grow, learn and innovate but it’s up to each individual to take ownership and make it happen.

In your opinion, what makes LT different from other places you’ve worked?

LendingTree is a big brand in a start-up feeling environment. We have a culture of really smart, passionate people who have some fun while achieving their goals. The perks are pretty nice, too!

What has been your most memorable moment at LT?

I’ve been here for over 10 years so there have been a lot of memorable moments along the way! Working with the Creative team on the crazy career site videos was a highlight. The growth we’ve seen over the last few years and having a hand in building our team is the most satisfying part.

I’d want to ride a motorcycle around the dome. I have a bit of an adrenaline junkie tendency.

What is your favorite waste of time or guilty pleasure?

I love a good Netflix binge. My list is pretty stacked with travel and cooking shows, along with the Netflix standards.

What qualities makes some successful at LT?

They have grit and they’re fun to work with. Someone with those two traits will accomplish great things at LendingTree.

What would you give as an interview tip to someone?

Prepare, prepare, prepare. Learn everything you can about the company and the people you’ll be interviewing with. You need to spend time practicing your answers to likely interview questions. The 7th time you give an answer to a question will inevitably be much better than your 1st, so let the first 6 times be in front of a mirror. Situational questions can me the most difficult to answer so spend most of your time practicing them. Also, looking at the job descriptions for other positions will give you a better understanding of the traits the company likes to see. Lastly, you should practice doing case studies – there are a ton of examples online.

What is your favorite aspect about your job?

The people! Yes, LendingTree is very selective in who we hire but a great byproduct of that is we get to work with bright, passionate, hard-working people every day.

If you had a time machine that would work only once, what point in history would you want to visit?

I would go back to March, 14, 44 BC and tell Julius Caesar to call in sick for work the next day.

Passion for what you do and a positive attitude. Lending Tree is a very collaborative company that does an excellent job of bringing different departments together to work towards a common goal, so being able to work well with others is paramount.

What would you give as an interview tip to someone?

Do your research! Learn about our company culture and reflect on the reason you’d like to work at Lending Tree. Be willing to do the extra things that show us how you’re different than any other candidate. Above all else, we want people that REALLY want to work here!

What has been your most memorable moment at LT?

It’s a tie between my 1st in-person interview and my 1st Town Hall meeting. The interview was so memorable because I was just completely taken away by the company culture; just how laid back and “cool” everything seemed. The Town Hall meeting because it showed me just how passionate everyone here is – from executives to interns, you could tell that people LOVE this company, and the results speak for themselves.

I’d want to be the lion tamer, subduing some of the most fearsome creatures on earth!
